Nibmeister Josh Lax of JJ Lax Co. will be returning to The Paper Mouse this November to tune your fountain pen nibs to perfection. Try a specialty grind to give your handwriting some flair, or bring in a beloved pen for a tune-up. Mark your calendar, we’ll announce at a later date when appointments will be available to book. Some walk-ins will also be accepted between appointments on a first come, first served basis.

Joshua Lax: Master Nibmeister 
Joshua Lax is recognized not only as an expert nibmeister but also as a multifaceted professional with a unique blend of passions. With a background as a trial lawyer and a dedicated pen enthusiast, Josh brings a meticulous and thoughtful approach to the art of nib craftsmanship. Starting with the Pilot Varsity his father bought him as a child, and continuing to his entry into the fountain pen community, Josh believes fountain pens offer one of the best ways to experience an essential part of our lives: the act of writing.

Josh's work is characterized by his deep respect for traditional craftsmanship blended with modern innovation. His dedication to the craft is evident in every nib he creates, each meticulously tuned and tested to ensure the best writing experience according to the specific needs and preferences of its user. Josh is the first and only winner of the world's only known nib grinding competition, Esterbrook's Nib Wars.
