Welcome to West Newton Square
The summer brings many new faces to our neck of the woods in West Newton Square as people travel to the Boston area. This year we’re happy to see more new neighbors and a lovely little community blossoming here. While you’re in the area, we thought we’d share a few of our favorite food orders and spots to enjoy. There’s much more than we could fit in our list of highlights, plus many new businesses we have yet to explore ourselves. Sweet Tomatoes
They have a lot of options for toppings. It’s one of the few places where I can order one of my favorite pizza topping combos: spinach, bacon, and goat cheese.

I like the einspanner latte and get it with their handmade whipped cream, no sweetener. It's the perfect ratio of coffee to dairy, refreshing on a hot day.
Judith's Kitchen
They have a lot of healthy options that are very flavorful. I like their sandwiches and veggie sides.
Hilliards
We’ve been hoping for an ice cream shop and Hilliards answered. In addition to a lot of giftable sweets, they have a variety of unique snacks you can grab before you see a movie at West Newton Cinema.
West Newton Pizza & Grill
So many options and the prices are very reasonable. This is my favorite spot to get a sub when I have a big appetite. My usuals are the steak bomb and buffalo chicken sub.
West Newton Cinema
It’s one of the few theaters that showed Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein during its limited release this year. It was a really fun and cozy experience to get to see it on the big screen.
Shepherd Maudsleigh Studio Pop-up
West Newton has a very cool community of artists in a nearby print studio. They have a pop-up gallery on Washington Street so you view and purchase beautifully crafted prints.

A casual place with great portions for the value, offers a large variety of food. My go-to is the cheeseburger and fries combo when I need a quick bite.

Local theater for the oldies and trendies!
Paddy’s Public House
I have brought my friends here many times, amazing ambience with delicious American-style food in with a touch of Irish flavor.
Hilliards
Great local chocolate place if you are looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth. They offer in-house made ice cream too!
Blue Ribbon
The ribs are grilled to perfection. I clean my bones every time.

Hooray! We finally have a cafe again and an awesome one too. If I’m in the mood for caffeine, I’ll treat myself to their delicious tiramisu latte, but lately with the hot weather, I’ve been loving their Iced cocoa latte. Don’t forget to pair their drinks with a nice warm croffle which is available with different toppings, including my favorite savory option, Ham and Cheese.
West Newton Pizza & Grill
Always a go-to for a slice of cheese pizza for a quick bite. But when I have more time, I’m a fan of their toasted Italian sub and veal parm pasta dinner.

Another one of my quick bite favorites that has some of the tastiest made-to-order sandwiches. Early in the morning, I would stop by for a very generously sized breakfast burrito. For lunch, my favorite is the roast beef and Boursin sandwich. Make sure you’re hungry that day!
Paddy’s Public House
One of the best neighborhood comfort food spots. Great for a hang out with friends over some delicious apps and drinks. When I’m feeling hungrier, their chicken pot pie and extensive choices of burgers and sandwiches make a great meal.
West Newton Cinema
I grew up watching movies here and walking in there always brings back fond childhood memories. No matter what movie you end up watching, don’t pass on the fresh old-school popcorn topped with real melted butter.

I love their Hawaiian pizza. If you like the thin crisp flat bread, they are a go to place.

They offer so many varieties. Good food, tasty and awesome value. Victor and I love their veal parm with ziti.

It’s a very cozy place to hang out with friends. Hojicha latte is my go to drink. I also love their homemade croffles.

A great place to get a local chocolate gift and treat yourself with a yummy chocolate ice cream while you’re there.

We were all so happy when a cafe opened in the Square, and even happier when it turned out to be a gorgeous place like Moments with delicious drinks and food. I most often get their cold brew, but their tiramisu latte and matcha latte are amazing as a treat. I also agree with the rest of the team that the einspanner whipped cream goes with everything.

You can completely customize a sandwich here. The ingredients in their sandwiches and prepared dishes are always fresh and tasty. Jenny introduced me to their kale salad ten years ago and I’ve been getting it ever since.

Everyone here is super friendly. Whatever you get from their extensive menu, don’t skip the outstanding fries!
Blue Ribbon BBQ
I like their ribs and burnt ends. Their portions are huge and their cornbread is great.
Paddy’s Public House
They’ve got a lively bar and a cozy, relaxed sit-down area. The chicken pot pie is perfect comfort food. I like their fish tacos as well.
