It has been an uneasy few months since The Paper Mouse closed its doors. Our business, along with many other small businesses in our neighborhood, has been stretched and strained by the long period of closure, and it will be uphill work for us in the months ahead to regain what we’ve lost. Beyond our walls, we know our challenges are just a small part of the colossal sorrow that so many are facing in the loss of livelihood, health, and loved ones, and in the heartbreaking social conversations that are taking place in our country.
But during this difficult period, we have felt overwhelmingly thankful, proud, and humbled by the response of our wonderful community. We are filled with gratitude for our customers who have continued to support our shop, who have donated care packages to our neighbors in need, and who blew us away with generous contributions to our fundraiser for the Greater Boston Food Bank. In spite of the challenges and worries of this time, we’ve been buoyed by the knowledge that we are surrounded by a caring, supportive community.
It is with full hearts that we announce our shop’s reopening this Wednesday, 6/10. We will be operating under limited hours, with new social distancing and hygiene precautions in place for the safety of our customers and staff. We know it will take patience and understanding as we adjust to navigating the world safely in this new environment. But we know that our community will meet these new circumstances with the same supportive spirit that you have all shown during the past few months of crisis. We can’t wait to open our doors to you once more.
