Volume 93 Limited Edition Pencil | Set of 12Regular price $ 34.00
Blackwing's Volume 93 pencils honor artist, educator, and social justice advocate Corita Kent. A onetime nun and head of the art department at the Immaculate Heart College, she later left the sisterhood to pursue her art career and anti-war activism, spreading a message of peace and love during the Vietnam War. Kent believed that art could be a tool for dialogue, reflection, and change.
Boston locals will recognize the bright rainbow brushstrokes on these pencils from Kent's design on the storage tank in Dorchester off Interstate 93, the largest copyrighted work of art in the world.
Like all Blackwing pencils, Volume XIX features incense-cedar casing, Japanese graphite, and an iconic refillable square eraser.
