Regular price $ 109.00 The Hobonichi Techo is a popular Japanese planner packed with thoughtfully designed details that make it a beloved organization tool and an open-ended format that doesn’t box users in. It’s popularly used as a planner, bullet journal, diary, and sketchbook, among other uses. This version is the A5 size Hobonichi Techo Cousin, a larger version of the original book that gives you plenty of space to write and draw.
The A5 Techo has a page-per-day layout. Each page is headed with the date, day of the week, phase of the moon, and a small fill-in checklist, and each footer has an inspirational quote and a mini monthly calendar for quick reference. The pages have a grid background which provides guidance if you want to divide the pages, draw boxes, create checklists, or write journal entries, but the grid is light enough to disregard. Along the left side of the page is a thin timeline column which can be used to create an hourly schedule. Each month is printed in a different color so it’s easy to distinguish between months, and Sundays are printed in red, so you always know when a new week begins.
The beginning of the Techo contains an overview of yearly calendar dates, plus weekly pages for writing each week’s appointments and monthly calendar spreads so you can see the whole month at a glance. It has a yearly index including every date in the year, which can be used as a table of contents, a reference for birthdays and important dates, or a habit tracker. At the end of the planner are extras including additional pages for notes, a place for important contacts, a favorite things list, a “My 100” list, and more. The thoughtfully designed Techo has lay flat binding and is made with thin but high quality Tomoe River paper.
This planner comes with the Hedelmäpuu cover, featuring illustrations by Eri Shimatsuka. The polyester cover includes two pen loops that keep it closed when a pen is inserted. It has two bookmarks to help you keep your place and a plethora of pockets to hold credit cards, business cards, stamps, tickets, sticky notes, and other odds and ends.

- Due to changes in supply, Hobonichi will switch to an updated version of Tomoe River paper in 2024. Each 2023 planner contains a sheet of the new Tomoe River paper for users to test out before next year’s paper switch.

If you’re local, we’re offering local delivery and in-store pickup for last-minute orders. Here are our cutoff dates:
Local Delivery: Order by December 23
In-Store Pickup: Order by 3 pm on December 24
Of course, shipments and inventory often get scrambled at this hectic time of year, so we always recommend leaving a little extra time and ordering ahead whenever possible.
Shipping
Online orders are packaged within 2–3 business days after purchase and are typically sent via USPS Priority Mail. If a shipping carrier is not specified at checkout, we may use similar services such as UPS Ground or USPS First-Class Mail that could take an additional 2–3 days to arrive at your address.
Customers who would like to pick up their orders may select the Pick Up option at checkout. Completed orders are available for pickup during our regular shop hours:
Monday-Saturday: 11am–6pm
Sunday: 11am–5pm

Local Area Delivery
For customers who live within three miles of The Paper Mouse, we offer local area delivery services when you make a purchase on our website.
Customers with eligible addresses will see a local delivery option at checkout when placing an order online. Delivery has a flat-rate fee of $5. Orders will be delivered after 5pm on the next business day after the order is received.
International Shipping
International orders may be subject to import fees, duties, or tariffs that are determined by the country of delivery. The Paper Mouse is not responsible for these charges, nor are we able to calculate them prior to shipment. We advise that you work with your local Customs office to determine these charges prior to placing an order.
If a shipment is refused due to unwanted fees, duties, or tariffs imposed by Customs in the country of delivery, you will be charged for both original and return shipping, as well as all associated fees.
Please understand that delays due to Customs processing are out of our control.
Backordered Items
In the event that an item you purchased becomes backordered, we will attempt to contact you to see if you wish to exchange with a different item or receive a refund. If we are unable to reach you within 72 hours, we will automatically refund the backordered item and ship the remainder of the order to you.
Returns and Exchanges
We accept returns and exchanges for unused or defective items for up to 30 days with proof of purchase. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. For more details, please see our Refund Policy.
